About Our Streets Now
Our Streets Now is a passionate, grassroots organisation creating real change in ending public
sexual harassment. Since launching in 2019 and incorporating as a Community Interest Company
in 2022, we’ve:
● Run programmes with thousands of teachers and students across the UK
● Led work with local authorities and universities to make high streets safer
● Given expert testimony to Parliament on the impact of harassment
● Successfully changed the law in 2023 through our #CrimeNotCompliment campaign
In 2025 we are launching our new strategy, focussing on ending public sexual harassment through
our work in schools, universities, sports and high streets, and we are working to diversify our
funding streams.
So far, we’ve been fortunate that funders have found us organically, and we’ve never had a paid
fundraiser. We believe a small amount of expertise could go a long way in helping us grow and
sustain our work. This is an exciting time to join Our Streets Now and make a real difference at a
key point in our growth.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced grant writer & fundraiser to research, write, and submit grant
applications that support both project-based funding and core costs.
Key Responsibilities
● Identify and apply for immediate funding opportunities, prioritising small-to-medium grants.
● Advise the team on fundraising strategy, guiding them on target funders, application
approaches, and when to apply for larger grants, while team leads handle ongoing
relationships.
● Create and manage a grants pipeline, tracking active applications and upcoming deadlines
to ensure future funding success once the contract ends.
● Collaborate with project leads to develop compelling applications, ensuring each is
high-quality and aligned with funders’ priorities to maximise success.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
● Shares OSN’s values, including our commitment to anti-racism, trans-inclusion, and
youth-led change
● Has proven experience in grant writing for small charities or grassroots organisations
● Understands the funding landscape and can identify relevant grant opportunities
● Is a strong writer who can craft persuasive, tailored applications
● Can work independently, managing deadlines and priorities effectively
● Is adaptable to a small, dynamic, non-traditional organisation
Contract Details
● Contract: Freelance, 4-month contract (April – July 2025) with possibility of extension
