Job Title: Christian Book Ghostwriter – Biography/First Person

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Christian Ghostwriter to assist in creating a compelling, faith-driven biography in the style of Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. This position requires a writer with the ability to work with video interviews, transcribe them, and convert the content into a story/chapter format suitable for a Christian and medical audience. Our goal is to work together and get this done within 2-3 months.

Responsibilities:

• Review video interviews and take detailed transcriptions.
• Transform the transcriptions into a well-structured story or chapter format.
• Maintain a first-person narrative tone and storytelling approach.
• Ensure content aligns with Christian values and beliefs.
• Work collaboratively with the client to ensure the book captures their vision and message.
• Apply Chicago Manual of Style to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
• Collaborate through Google Docs/Sheets to manage drafts and revisions.
• Work quickly to meet or exceed project deadlines.
• Get the book done 2-3 Months

Additional Responsibilities:

• Conduct additional research if needed to ensure accuracy in storytelling.
• Adjust the tone and voice as needed to match the subject’s personal narrative and style.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism in communication and delivery of work.
• Work well with the team behind the book. Editor, Publisher, Publicist, and Designer.
• Zoom workrooms where you work with the team, family and author.
• Conduct additional interviews as needed to get additional details regarding the story.
• Fact check stories when needed.
• Gather additional details from the author.
• The book will be published under the author, but you will be referenced inside the book by the author.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in ghostwriting at least one project (preferably a biography or memoir). Must be available to view on Amazon
• Experience writing a Christian-themed biography.
• Excellent command of the Chicago Manual of Style.
• Proficient in Google Docs and Google Sheets.
• Strong ability to write in a first-person narrative style.
• Ability to process and adapt video interviews into a cohesive and engaging story.
• Must be able to work independently while meeting deadlines.
• A deep understanding of Christian themes and values is essential.
• We require the URL for a published book you’ve worked on. (We will check reviews to ensure the quality of your work).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or knowledge with the Seventh Day Adventist Church and its beliefs.
• Previous experience writing Christian-based books or stories.
• Familiarity with medical or inspirational biographies (similar to Ben Carson’s Gifted Hands) is a plus.
