About the Role:-
We are looking for detail-oriented and linguistically strong individuals to join us as ALT Text Writers on a freelance basis. Your role will involve creating accurate, concise, and contextually meaningful alternative text descriptions for educational images, charts, graphs, and diagrams to ensure accessibility for visually impaired learners.
Key Responsibilities:-
Write clear, precise, and accurate alternative text (ALT text) for visual content used in academic materials.
Ensure descriptions are concise, relevant, and aligned with the image’s purpose in context.
Maintain consistency in tone, formatting, and technical language (where applicable).
Follow project-specific guidelines and ensure adherence to accessibility standards (like WCAG).
Work with quality control teams to incorporate feedback and make timely revisions.
Requirements:-
Strong command of written English with excellent grammar and clarity.
Prior experience in content writing, editing, instructional design, or accessibility writing (preferred).
Ability to understand and describe educational visuals clearly and objectively.
Basic understanding of educational content (K–12 or higher ed).
