The Nerd Stash is looking for a pop culture-obsessed writer who lives and breathes celebrity fashion, style moments, and fan reactions on social media. If you’re the type of person who constantly refreshes Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter for the latest celebrity updates, we want you on our team!
About the Role:
This position is all about covering celebrity appearances, red-carpet moments, social media snapshots, and viral fan reactions. Your job is to spot the hottest celebrity posts, write engaging articles about their looks, and capture how fans are reacting in real time. This means everything from a stunning red carpet dress to a casual coffee run outfit that sends the internet buzzing.
Most importantly, it’s all in the headline. Our ideal writer understands that a straightforward, flattering title won’t cut it. Instead, you’ll need to lean into fan controversy, criticism, and suggestive angles to maximize engagement.
What You’ll Do:
- Daily coverage of celebrity looks, including red carpet events, social media posts, and paparazzi sightings.
- Monitor social media to gauge fan reactions, including trending tweets, Instagram comments, and TikTok discussions.
- Craft engaging, critical, and sometimes provocative articles that highlight not just the look but how fans are responding to it.
- Write attention-grabbing headlines that spark discussion and drive traffic.
- Stay ahead of trending celebrities and influencer culture, ensuring you always know who’s making waves.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone obsessed with celebrity culture who naturally keeps up with A-listers, influencers, and entertainment trends.
- A strong writer with a sharp, engaging style who can describe fashion and appearance in a way that gets people talking.
- A social media sleuth who knows how to track down the hottest reactions, memes, and discussions across platforms.
- A self-starter who can work independently and quickly in a fast-paced, real-time environment.
- Experience in entertainment writing, fashion journalism, or celebrity news is a plus.
- An understanding that controversy and sexual innuendo drive clicks, and a willingness to craft stories that reflect this.
